There is growing congestion on the Saanich Peninsula and the Capital Region.
The Pat Bay continues to strain, the "Colwood Crawl" slows the Westshore commute, BC Transit struggles to keep up, E & N rail continues to be unused, BC Ferries service to the Gulf Islands is undergoing change, the potential for passenger ferries in the Inner Harbour and Saanich Inlet is a constant rumour, and road maintenance, cycling lanes, and regional governance are all issues that need addressing.
The Capital Region needs a long-term transportation strategy. Through the Victoria Airport and Swartz Bay ferry terminal, Saanich North and the Islands plays an important role in connecting the region to the rest of the world.
